About The College In Brief

The College Motto: “Per Ardua Ad Astra” (Success Through Hard work).

Bailey Baptist College, which came into being in 1996, is a home mission project of Wokha Town Baptist Church (WBTC), named after Dr. James Railey Bailey an American medical missionary who in 1927 established the first Baptist Mission Centre in Vankhosung under Wokha District. The College is affiliated to the Nagaland Board of School Education (NBSE) at the level of Higher Secondary and to the Nagaland University for the Degree Courses. This College having all the prescribed norms and principles is a well maintained disciplined institution. It has a plan to become an Autonomous College in near future.


The College has 22 acres of land which is almost 5 Km away from the main town (Wokha). It has a panoramic view of the surrounding areas. The College campus has a serene atmosphere, Conducive for an ideal academic environment.


The College has a good library having sufficient numbers of relevant books, it subscribes for daily Local and National News Papers and certain journals and magazines. A separate reading room is also provided. The College library will be computerized in the near future.


The College has separate hostels for both Boys and Girls. The hostels accommodate around 100 Students. The college has its own water source and supply is abundant throughout the year.

Bailey Baptist College is affiliated to the Nagaland Board of School Education (NBSE) at the level of Higher Secondary and to the Nagaland University for the Degree Course.

College Library

The College has a good library having sufficient numbers of relevant books, it subscribes for daily Local and National News Papers and certain journals and magazines. A separate reading room is also provided. The College library will be computerized in the near future.

The library has been the lifeline of the academic activities of the institute from its inception. The library intends to give facilities and assist them in their yearning for knowledge. The library provides support and information and caters the needs of the studentsand the faculty members of the college. With the characteristics of the information seeks and scholars changing rapidly, the uplifment of the library is prioritised and special fund is included in each academic session to update the library books and keep p[ace with the changing academic advancement.

The libraryis kept open on all working days from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM. The library members are issued special cards in order to get free access to the college library. The library cards are use to loan library books for the students and teachers for a specific period.
